Biography on Dr. Gamini Soori

In 2006, Dr. Gamini Soori accepted the responsibility of Principal Investigator for the MVCC. Dr. Soori graduated with honors from the University of Ceylon School of Medicine, in Sri Lanka and completed his Internal Medicine Residency in England. He received his fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center, Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Soori completed additional training in Hematology and Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital in London, England. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. Dr. Soori is the Medical Director of Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Cancer Center and serves as the Chairman of its Oncology Committee. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Soori is married to Chandrika Soori, MD and has two children.
